The countdown for the upcoming 2nd Outreach event on SBAS adoption in aviation in Africa has started!

The EU Global Action on space is pleased to be participating in this event organised by the SatNav Africa Joint Programme Office (JPO) in collaboration with the ANGA programme and Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) in conjunction with Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA). It will be held on 2nd and 3rd February 2023 in Abuja, Nigeria and streamed online.

The EU Global Action on Space will bring to the table a much-needed European perspective to the discussion around several topics related to SBAS adoption and use in Africa. The overall aim is to provide a knowledge-sharing platform to support stakeholders’ decision-making in the creation of synergies to enable the collective reaping of benefits provided by SBAS in the continent, including safety, efficiency and environmental protection benefits.

The event will bring together key stakeholders from the African continent (Civil Aviation Authorities, Air Navigation Service Providers, Airlines, Airports and Airlines Associations), aircraft and avionics manufacturers, pioneers/champion airlines, and members of the international SBAS Interoperability Working Group, on top of numerous key stakeholders from Europe.
